Original Peloton Bike
A decade after its launch, Peloton has become the Kleenex of stationary bikes: Its name is synonymous with the exercise modality. And this is the model that started it all. The Original Peloton Bike doesn’t have the same bells and whistles as the Bike+ (which was released in 2020—and is also on sale for Prime Day), but it’s still great for anyone who wants to dance through a workout with the brand’s peppy, encouraging instructors. With classes available via the large touchscreen that last anywhere from 5 to 90 minutes (available with a Peloton membership for $44 a month) you really get to decide how hard you want to go on any given day.
According to SELF’s senior commerce editor, the ability to choose your own fitness adventure makes this exercise bike a great fit for indoor cycling enthusiasts of all ages: “The Bike was my mom’s introduction to Peloton, and she still uses it every single day. It’s quiet and fits easily into the corner of our sunroom. It’s been years, and it still works just as well as the day it was delivered,” she says.
Pro tip? If you’re just getting your indoor cycling space squared away, grab a Peloton bike mat, which will protect your floors, while it’s 15% off.
Peloton Bike+
The Peloton Bike+ takes the immersive spin classes of the OG model and elevates them with smartwatch integration, automatically adjusted resistance, and a larger screen. SELF contributor Rozalynn S. Frazier, CPT, put the Bike+ to the test a few years ago and loved her experience. “One of the things I really liked about the Bike+ is that it anticipated everything I wanted and those things I didn’t even know I needed,” she wrote. “For example, if you’re an Apple Watch wearer, which I am, at the beginning of a class, a notification pops up and asks you if you want to sync your Apple Watch. You tap your watch to the sensor and voilà, you’re good to go.”
Frazier also appreciated the amazing playlists curated by the Peloton instructors, the supportive cycling community, and how easily the bike fit into her compact apartment.
SELF’s senior health conditions writer also gives the Peloton Bike+ rave reviews, pointing out that while the price tag might be steep, you get a serious bang for your buck. “I’ve had my Peloton Bike+ for three years now and it’s still the best investment I’ve ever made for my health and well-being,” she says. “The swivel screen feature allows me to stuff my bike in a corner of my apartment without jeopardizing my workout space. And those speakers—AMAZING quality. A lot of people complain about the $44 monthly subscription, but that’s cheaper than a lot of gym memberships I’ve heard of, and it’s pennies when you think about how much each individual class costs. Just ONE pilates class in my neighborhood, for example, is already $45. 10/10 recommend!”
Peloton Cycling Shoes for Peloton Bike and Bike+
Cycling shoes can be a major upgrade from your regular sneakers. Shoes with cleats that clip into the bike, like Peloton’s top-rated pair, help keep your feet and knees in alignment and make pedaling way more efficient (thus improving your overall workout), as SELF previously reported.
SELF’s commerce director, who’s an avid indoor cyclist (and huge Peloton fan), says switching from regular trainers to clip-in cycling shoes completely changed her workout. “After making use of my exercise bike’s pedal foot cages for three years, I finally invested in a pair of proper cycling shoes. And wow—my workout immediately leveled up,” she says. “Not only can my toes wiggle without any pinching from the cage, but I can really feel the muscles in the back of my legs fire up now that I’m not gripping with my feet.”
Peloton Tread
The Tread won a Home Fitness Award last year for its truly immersive workout experience—and, again, Peloton’s stellar trainers. “The instructors and platform make this piece of equipment what it is,” one of our awards judges said. There’s a range of walking, hiking, running, and bootcamp classes to choose from, and its touchscreen clocks in at nearly 24 inches, so you can really dial into your cardio—like you’re right there in the studio.
“The price of this treadmill is higher than others on the market, but if you’re going to be using Peloton’s platform, this is the most seamless experience,” our judge added. Lucky for you, you can snag it for over $400 off during Prime Day.

AI-Powered Personal Strength Training Device For Your TV
At a whopping 59% off, this is the biggest deal of Peloton’s Prime Day: the brand’s AI-powered personal trainer that hooks straight into your TV. This nifty device mirrors your image as you perform fitness moves like squats and deadlifts; meanwhile, a split screen lets you compare your form with the Peloton trainer guiding the class so you can avoid movements that could lead to injuries. The Personal Strength Training Device also counts your reps and keeps track of how much weight you’re using so you can continue to improve over weeks, months, and years of at-home workouts.

Peloton Reversible Workout Mat

Reversible Workout Mat
Give your worn out yoga mat a break: Peloton’s reversible workout mat features one grippy side for sweaty workouts and one soft rubber side for easy stretching and savasana. Chelsea Jackson Roberts, a yoga instructor at Peloton in NYC, previously told SELF that she prefers these dual-purpose mats for any class where some extra traction may come in handy. Think: hot yoga, HIIT, or sweaty strength training.
Peloton Dumbbells

Dumbbells (Set of 2)
Anyone who’s ever purchased at-home fitness equipment knows that weights are (how should we phrase this?) stupidly expensive. During Amazon Prime Day, Peloton has marked down all of its dumbbells by 15%, which should make stocking your weight rack less of a chore. These 5-to-20-pound weights are made with ergonomically designed square heads that make moves like goblet squats (which involve gripping the head of the weight) easier to perform.
